Q What are the Trojan Media Center's hours?


The Trojan Media Center is open from 7:00am - 3:00pm Mondays - Fridays and additional times during POWER, which are posted weekly on the Media Center doors.

Q Do students need a note to enter the Media Center?

Students need a note or their signed agenda to enter the media center during school hours. If students are in the media center because they are running an errand for their teacher, then they should have a note from the teacher. The only times when students do not need a note from a teacher or their agenda is before and after school. During POWER, students do not need a note or signed agenda.

Q What do students need to check out a book or use the Internet?

A Students in grades 9-11 were issued ID cards recently, and are encouraged to use these for book check out.  In some cases, students may have to provide the last four digits of their student ID. 

Q How long can books be checked out?

Books can be checked out for two weeks. They may be renewed for another two weeks. Reference books (they have a yellow spine label) may only be checked out overnight.

Q Does SJHS Media Center have fines for overdue books?

SJHS Media Center does not charge for overdue books. However, if a book is damaged or lost, students will have to pay a replacement fee.

Q Can students print in the media center?

Students may print with permission from one of the library staff members. Each page costs ten cents, or students can bring thier own computer paper and print for free.

Q How many books may be checked out at one time?

Students can check out up to three books at one time.

Q Can students eat lunch in the Media Center during POWER?

Eating and drinking is prohibited in the Media Center, but we strongly encourage students to feed their minds with a good book!
