SJHS Local Application: This one application is all that is needed for several scholarships through our local churches, organizations and civic groups. Due by 4/21/17. Visit:

Benton Scholarship: Scholarship is worth $20,000 for a senior attending a 4 year university and $2500 for a senior attending a community college/trade school. Due: 3/31/17

Life Long Learner Scholarship (JoCo Ed Foundation):  Award:  $1000, nonrenewable. Requirements are as follows: posses’ community service, academic scholarship and plan to pursue a secondary education. Students should submit an essay on one community activity and describe the benefit that they received from this activity, making sure to include the number of hours spent on the activity. DUE 4/21/17

Mast Stem Scholarship (JoCo Ed Foundation):  Award: $500, non-renewable. Requirements are as follows: be in the top 20% of senior class, financial need, documented 15 hours of community service and leadership, posses 95% attendance, no unexcused. Interested seniors should submit an essay on “What you consider to be the most significant public issue (local, national, international) of the past 12 months. DUE 4/21/17

Johnston County Farm Bureau Scholarship: JC FB will award 3 $1000 scholarships to deserving students from our county high schools. Eligibility includes leadership potential, good character, academic merit and proof of college acceptance. Preference will be given to but not limited to JCFB members and students enrolling in agriculture or ag related fields. Paper application from Mrs. Peters. DEADLINE: 4/1/17.

JCC Keystone Leaders Scholarship Program: Requirements: Be enrolled full-time at Johnston Community College for 2017-2018 year; Have a minimum of 3.0 GPA; Participate in ALL sessions as required (see tentative schedule); Participate in Internship, completing all required hours (90); Perform 4 speaking engagements as assigned by Adviser; Volunteer in 2 community service events as assigned by Adviser; Successfully complete entire application, including 2 references. Alton Bridgers Memorial Scholarship:  This scholarship will be $1000 and can be renewable. Scholarship is based on financial need, character and academic excellence. Paper application from Mrs. Peters. DUE 3/31/17

NC Society of Accountants Scholarship: The scholarship will be for $750 to a student who plans to pursue a degree in accounting. Paper applications from Mrs. Peters. DUE 4/15/17.

Better Business Bureau 2017 Torch Scholarship: Submit an essay of 1000 words or less along with a completed application by April 3, 2017. Visit:

JCC Ambassador Scholarship:  Student Ambassadors are selected through a process based on the application, references), and a panel interview. In addition, applicants must sign a contract stating they understand the requirements. What are the benefits?: Full tuition, activity, and technology fees paid for one year; Personal and professional development; Clothing and name tag; Opportunities to meet community and state leaders and become acquainted with trustees, foundation board, faculty, and staff; and Being a part of a small, exceptional group of students committed to the success of JCC and its students. JCC General and Program of Study Scholarships: Students need to complete an admissions application to the college. From there, you will receive a student identification number and can begin the process online for scholarships. The online scholarship process will be March 15-June 1st. Visit:

JCC Foundation High School Senior Scholarship: $1000 scholarship;  This is a school nomination process. If you are planning to attend JCC in the fall and have a 2.5 GPA or higher, please send your name to Mrs. Peters to be qualified.

Many prestigious scholarship competitions begin very early in the senior year.

Make sure you check out those scholarships to ensure you know what is expected & if you qualify!!
